On the 16th December’2017 , Youthreach co-organised the “India-Japan Sports Exchange Programme” for the Embassy of Japan and Sports Authority of India at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi. The event was a sports cultural programme to highlight the traditional sports of both the countries, as well as Japan’s initiative to promote “Sports for Tomorrow” and 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. The event was honored with the presence of distinguished guest Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Honorable Minister of State ( Independent Charge), Youth Affairs and Sports as the Chief Guest, The Ambassador of Japan His Excellency Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu and other dignitaries. Japanese Judo Olympians Mr. Masashi Nishiyama and Ms. Misato Nakamura along with four Indian Olympians, Mr. Balbir Singh (Hockey), Mr. Vijender Singh (Boxing), Mr. Akhil Kumar (Boxing) and Mr. Akram Shah (Judo) also graced at the event.
Performances of Japanese martial arts (Kendo and Karate), Indian martial arts (Kalaripayattu) as well as traditional Japanese drums and dance enthralled over three thousand spectators who had gathered to witness this mega event.
